Risk Ledger Secures $32 Million to Bolster Supply Chain Security Efforts
In a significant move to bolster supply chain security, British firm Risk Ledger has announced that it has raised £24 million ($32.3 million) in Series B funding, bringing its total investment to £33.8 million ($45 million). The fresh injection of capital will be used to expand the company’s network and deepen intelligence sharing among organizations, as well as develop artificial intelligence (AI) tools to automate risk assessments and surface potential threats.
Founded in 2018, Risk Ledger has built a pioneering platform that tackles modern supply chain cyber risks by connecting organizations and suppliers for faster, more comprehensive assessments. The firm’s approach enables connected companies to view supplier profiles created after each supplier completes a standardized assessment, which is then maintained in real-time. This model moves third-party risk management towards Active Supply Chain Security, allowing organizations to collectively defend against systemic risks.
Risk Ledger’s network has already gained significant traction, with over 16,000 organizations across financial services, critical national infrastructure, government, and insurance sectors joining the platform. The company claims that its solution is essential for mitigating supply chain attacks, which have become increasingly prevalent in recent years.
The fresh investment round was led by Axiom Equity, with additional support from previous investor Mercia Ventures. According to Jonathan Organ, founding partner at Axiom Equity, Risk Ledger is “creating a category rather than competing in an old one.” He praised the company’s network and its ability to grow more valuable with each new organization that joins.
The $32 million infusion will enable Risk Ledger to expand into the US market and further develop its AI-powered risk assessment tools. The company plans to use the funding to automate reviews and surface potential threats, making it easier for organizations to identify and mitigate risks in their supply chains.
As supply chain attacks continue to pose a significant threat to businesses worldwide, companies like Risk Ledger are playing a crucial role in providing innovative solutions to address these challenges. By expanding its network and developing AI-powered tools, Risk Ledger is well-positioned to help organizations protect themselves against the growing risk of supply chain cyber threats.
In practical terms, this means that organizations should prioritize building strong relationships with their suppliers and investing in robust supply chain security measures. By joining platforms like Risk Ledger’s and participating in standardized assessments, companies can gain a better understanding of potential risks and take proactive steps to mitigate them. As the threat landscape continues to evolve, it’s essential for businesses to stay ahead of the curve and invest in cutting-edge solutions that address emerging challenges.
