Mindgard Raises $30 Million to Protect AI Systems

Mindgard Secures $30 Million in Funding to Protect AI Systems from Emerging Threats

A significant funding boost has been given to Mindgard, a startup specializing in automated AI security and red-teaming solutions. The London- and Boston-based company has raised $30 million in a Series A investment round, bringing its total funding to nearly $42 million. This influx of capital will enable Mindgard to scale its product development, sales, and marketing efforts, with the goal of rapidly expanding deployments across various industries.

Mindgard’s innovative platform is designed to identify and respond to AI risks by capturing and exploiting the “psycho-technical attack surface” within AI agents, models, and applications. This means that the solution can map the entire attack surface, continuously analyze it, and deliver runtime protection to stop attacks in their tracks. The company has already made a significant impact by uncovering over 150 vulnerabilities across popular AI products, including a zero-day code execution flaw in Cursor IDE and security defects in Google Antigravity and ChatGPT.

The need for specialized AI security solutions is becoming increasingly pressing as organizations rely more heavily on artificial intelligence to drive innovation and growth. “AI is creating an entirely new attack surface, and organizations need a fundamentally different approach to securing it,” said James Brear, Mindgard’s CEO. By operationalizing expertise and turning the knowledge of leading AI security researchers and offensive security practitioners into actionable capabilities, Mindgard aims to provide enterprises with the tools they need to secure their AI systems.

The investment round was led by Album VC, with additional support from Karma Ventures and previous investors .406 Ventures, Atlantic Bridge, IQ Capital, and Lakestar. With this significant funding boost, Mindgard is well-positioned to accelerate its growth and expand its reach into key industries such as financial services, digital services, gaming, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and semiconductors.

As AI continues to transform the way organizations operate, it’s essential for businesses to prioritize AI security and take proactive steps to protect their systems from emerging threats. Mindgard’s innovative platform is a critical step in this direction, providing organizations with the tools they need to stay ahead of the curve and ensure the secure adoption of AI technologies.

To mitigate the growing risk of AI-related attacks, it’s crucial for businesses to prioritize AI security and implement robust measures to protect their systems. This can be achieved by staying informed about emerging threats, implementing robust security protocols, and investing in specialized solutions like Mindgard’s AI security platform. By taking proactive steps, organizations can ensure the secure adoption of AI technologies and minimize the risk of costly data breaches or system downtime.
