MIND Secures $72 Million for AI-Powered DLP

MIND, a Seattle-based startup, has secured $72 million in funding for its AI-powered data loss prevention (DLP) platform. This significant investment brings the company’s total raised to $112 million and will be used to accelerate platform development, expand into key enterprise markets, and scale the team.

The DLP market is massive, but it was not designed with AI in mind. With AI accelerating the problem of data exfiltration, MIND believes this is the moment to redefine DLP and build itself as a leader in data security for the AI era. The company’s platform relies on multi-layer classification to identify content and context, and its AI agents take over the DLP process, investigating events, tuning policies, and addressing issues.

MIND emerged from stealth mode in 2024 with an AI-native DLP platform that protects customer data through smart automations. Its platform provides real-time detection and blocks data exfiltration attempts across the entire enterprise environment, including email, endpoint, gen-AI, and SaaS deployments. This is particularly important as AI gives people and autonomous systems new ways to access and move sensitive data at unprecedented speed.

The investment round was led by Crosspoint Capital Partners, with additional support from previous investors YL Ventures and Paladin Capital Group. MIND’s CEO, Eran Barak, believes that security leaders are being asked to protect data that moves at AI speed with complex, manual, and incomplete tools designed for a slower world. He emphasizes the need to reinvent how sensitive data is protected in this new era.

This funding round highlights the growing importance of DLP solutions in the face of escalating data breaches. As organizations increasingly rely on AI and automation to drive business growth, the risk of data exfiltration also grows. MIND’s platform addresses this challenge by leveraging AI to identify and block potential threats in real-time.

The practical takeaway from this story is that security leaders must be prepared to adapt their strategies to address the changing landscape of data security. As AI becomes more prevalent in business operations, it’s essential to invest in solutions like DLP that can keep pace with these changes. By doing so, organizations can better protect themselves against emerging threats and ensure the integrity of sensitive data.
